January slipped away silently, its chilly winds whispering through the empty streets during my outdoor daily walks. Aside from practicing Tai Chi, I added Qigong to protect me from colds. I’ll let you know how it goes. And now, as February unfolds its wings, love takes center stage. Over the years, I’ve discovered a valuable lesson: to shield myself from the consumerism that surrounds Valentine’s Day. Instead, I prioritize self-care, nurturing my soul before pouring affection onto my cherished ones. From the moment I wake up in the morning until the end of the day, I find opportunities to practice loving kindness for myself. Since I make it a point to be kind to myself daily, on Valentine’s Day, I create even more precious, cherished moments. Of course, a decadent chocolate treat, a frothy cappuccino, and a thoughtful gift are all part of the experience.
With a tight student work schedule, I’ve chosen to maintain a low profile and only attend essential meetings this year. In order to prioritize my writing, by limiting my email and social media checks to just twice a day. Until July, my sole focus is to complete the revisions of my novel.
Amidst everything, I am using time to craft one short story and meticulously mapping out the plot for another, letting my creativity flow like a gentle stream. The rhythmic scratch of my pen on paper echoes through the room, creating a symphony of inspiration. The deeper I delve into my research into Asian culture, the more captivated I am by the elegant and intricate artistry of calligraphy and customs. Each dynasty reveals its own unique tale, unraveling history’s secrets and keeping me spellbound, eager to uncover more. This journey of exploration has been nothing short of captivating and has enthralled me from the very beginning.
This month, I am engrossed in three captivating books, each offering a unique genre – from biographies to family drama and mystery.
Wishing you a very happy month of love, and Happy Valentine’s Day.
